Major Program Impacts or Outcomes

90% of teachers attending our summer workshops indicated they will use the curriculum at least 5 times reaching approximately 3500 students. 13,000 students received the ND Ag Mag publication 3 times this school year. Agriculture literacy increased for approximately 6500 students and community members due to the programs funded by the Mini-Grants made possible. 6,000 students have improved agriculture literacy due to the annual field trip programs Living Ag Classroom.

Melanie is the state contact for the AITC program but also has numerous duties as a policy and research analyst. She has spent the last year pursuing expansion of AITC in North Dakota. The Ag Mag subscription list continues to grow and the calendar coloring contest is an event students and teachers look forward to each year! Melanie grew up with agriculture as her father worked in grain elevators and numerous family members have dairy farms. She helped prepare for the home town Threshing Show and still remembers how to shock wheat!
