CHS Classroom Grants
CHS Foundation provides $500 grants each year to K-12 teachers who have classroom projects that use agricultural concepts to teach reading, writing, math, science, social studies and more. Eligible projects include classroom and schoolyard gardens, embryology projects, aquaculture projects and agricultural literacy reading programs to name a few. The CHS Classroom Grant application becomes available on this page in mid-July and the deadline for applications is Sept. 15. CHS Foundation provides scholarships to K-12 teachers to attend the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference each year. The scholarship covers a $435 early conference registration for teachers selected. The application becomes available on this page in mid-January and the deadline for applications is early March. Recipients are notified in mid-March before the early registration deadline in mid-April. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade will learn their reading, writing, math, science and social studies lessons with an agricultural twist thanks to $500 in grant funding from the CHS Foundation, funded by charitable gifts from CHS Inc., and the National Agriculture in the Classroom Organization (NAITCO). Sixteen projects involving pollination activities, innovative hydroponics growing systems and classroom embryology initiatives were selected for funding from more than 90 highly competitive applications submitted.
