Grants and Scholarships
Teachers in kindergarten through 12th grade who have an agriculture-related project they would like to conduct during the 2017-18 school year are eligible to apply for a CHS Classroom Grant thanks to funding from the CHS Foundation. Fifteen $500 grants will be distributed to teachers with the most innovative agricultural projects that help them teach their students reading, writing, math, science, social studies and other core subject areas. Projects funded in the past have included STEM school garden, embryology and aquaponics projects, among others. The deadline for applications is September 15, 2017. Applicants will be notified by email in early October.

STEM school gardens, embryology projects and aquaponics growing systems were just a few of the projects funded by 15 $500 classroom grants provided by the CHS Foundation, funded by charitable gifts from CHS Inc., and the National Agriculture in the Classroom Organization (NAITCO). NAITCO received 115 applications for the 2016 CHS Classroom Grant program. Check the NAITCO website next July for information on the next round of classroom grants.

CHS Scholarship to attend National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference
The CHS Foundation for the fifth year is sponsoring teachers from across the nation to attend the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference. They are graciously providing $20,000 in scholarship funds to fund dozens of deserving teachers. Engaging workshops, tours, keynote speakers and networking events will provide exceptional learning opportunities for these teachers to increase their comfort level in agricultural topics and also integrate agricultural content into instruction to meet academic standards in Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Math and Health/Nutrition. If you would like to participate in an engaging professional development experience and connect with educators from across the country, you should consider applying for this scholarship.
