State Summary 2017 — Maryland
2017 was a lean year for developing new resources for the classroom. Our energies were consumed with other activities during the year.
Major Program Accomplishments or Outputs
TheAmazing! Maryland Agriculture" Showcase was finally completed following nearly three years of development and construction. The $240,000 mobile Showcase is designed to travel to fairs and festivals across Maryland informing all ages about Maryland Agriculture, the State's largest industry. The exhibits reflect the text and photographs found in the elementary education book entitledAmazing! Maryland Agriculture". The 48 FT gooseneck style three axle trailer with two slide-out sides was outfitted with attractive exhibits and interactive activities utilizing the services of the Exhibit Design Center at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. The entire project was funded by generous donations from organizations, businesses and individuals.
