About
In a world with rapidly changing populations and technologies, National Agriculture in the Classroom (NAITC) understands how crucial it is for future generations to be exposed to the opportunities and careers of agriculture and have a better understanding of the food and fiber systems relied on every day.
NAITC improves student achievement by applying authentic, agricultural-based content as the context to teach core curriculum concepts in science, social studies, language arts, and nutrition. NAITC is the lead organization to provide quality classroom resources and teacher professional development for agricultural literacy.
NAITC supports state-level Agriculture in the Classroom programs by providing a network that seeks to improve agricultural literacy — awareness, knowledge, and appreciation of agriculture as it affects quality of life — among preK-12 teachers and students. In most states, key resources align with state academic standards and pre- and in-service programs have become an invaluable tool in helping teachers become more comfortable with the subject of agriculture.
NAITC, along with state-level programs, stand ready to help educators deliver agriculture in their classroom setting and beyond.
